My name is Hanh, and I've dedicated the past decade to teaching Vietnamese to foreigners worldwide. My passion for language and education has led me to build a teaching business, where I lead a fantastic team of 15 teachers. COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for English speakers. I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Vietnamese is smoother and easier to understand.
No previous knowledge of the language is required.
The course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why it starts from the absolute basics. However, the course is also perfect for advanced beginners, as the difficulty of the lessons will gradually increase.
IN THIS COURSE, WE'LL COVER:
MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION
In this module, you'll learn to introduce yourself with basic details like your name, age, nationality, and family. I’ll also explain pronouns and their correct usage when interacting with Vietnamese locals.
We’ll start with a vocabulary introduction, followed by activities to help you memorize the words. I’ll emphasize pronunciation, guiding you on how to produce sounds and tones accurately.
Next, we'll cover essential grammar points to help you structure sentences correctly using the vocabulary you've learned. This will be accompanied by plenty of practice through activities focused on real-life situations for relevance and utility.
MODULE 2: PRONUNCIATION
This module focuses on helping learners achieve good pronunciation and enunciation, in order to apply them in daily speaking and listening. Vietnamese is a tonal language (i.e., with accent marks/diacritics) with some vowels that don’t appear in the English alphabet (e.g. ă, ơ, ê). In this course, we will learn how to say each letter in the alphabet and each tone correctly.
MODULE 3: DAILY CONVERSATIONS
By the end of this module, you can confidently take part in daily conversations with Vietnamese locals on certain topics, such as: what have you done today? How’s the weather? etc... Also, we will review the concept of pronouns and how to use them correctly when encountering Vietnamese locals.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course, you will be able to engage in basic conversations about daily activities, free time, and vacations, using key phrases and vocabulary with confidence. You’ll navigate practical situations such as ordering in a restaurant, shopping for food and clothes, and asking for directions around the city. Additionally, you’ll be able to express feelings and physical conditions, describe your appearance, emotions, and common health issues. You'll also learn how to handle everyday interactions related to housing, personal items, and giving directions, making real-life Vietnamese scenarios easier to manage. Understanding Vietnamese tones will enhance your pronunciation and communication skills, all while gaining insight into cultural sensitivity for more meaningful conversations.
COURSE STRUCTURE

The course is divided into several sections, containing the more than 45 video lessons and exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the course offer a sequential and logical learning path.
Remember that you can always go back and watch the lessons as often as needed.
All videos are in FULL HD and you can adjust the speed, audio and quality.
In all my videos, I try to use as many visual elements as possible, such as pictures, tables, and graphs. At the same time, you can also see me talking directly to you, making the lessons as engaging and entertaining as possible.
